Pie Chart Percentage Calculator
Calculate the percentage and pie-slice degree angle for each category in a data set, from a simple list of labeled values.
| Label | Value | % of Total | Pie Slice (°) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rent | 1200 | 50.00% | 180.0° |
| Food | 500 | 20.83% | 75.0° |
| Transport | 300 | 12.50% | 45.0° |
| Savings | 400 | 16.67% | 60.0° |
Pie Chart Percentage & Slice Angle Mathematics
Pie chart percentage calculator computes the percentage and pie-slice degree angle for each category in a data set, from a simple labeled list.
Each category's share of a pie chart is its value divided by the sum of all values. Since a full circle is 360°, multiplying that same fraction by 360 gives the angular size of that category's pie slice.
- 1Enter each category as a "Label: Value" line — one per row.
- 2View a table with each category's percentage of the total and its pie-slice angle in degrees.
A budget has Rent: $1,200, Food: $500, Transport: $300, and Savings: $400 (total $2,400).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
3.6° — since a full circle is 360° and 100% corresponds to the whole circle, each percentage point equals 360 ÷ 100 = 3.6 degrees.
No — pie charts represent parts of a whole, so all category values should be non-negative. Negative values don't have a meaningful pie-slice representation.
