Cycling speed calculator computes your speed from cadence and gear ratio, plus gear inches and meters of development for any chainring/cog combination.

Standardized Mathematical Formula
Speed (km/h) = Cadence × Gear Ratio × Wheel Circumference × 60 ÷ 1,000,000

Gear ratio is the chainring teeth divided by the rear cog teeth. Each pedal revolution turns the wheel by that ratio, and multiplying by cadence (pedal RPM) and wheel circumference gives ground speed.

Gear ratio: 50 ÷ 15 = 3.33.
Speed: 90 × 3.33 × (2,105 ÷ 1,000) × 60 ÷ 1,000 = 37.89 km/h.
In mph: 37.89 × 0.621371 ≈ 23.55 mph.
Result: At this gear and cadence, the cyclist travels approximately 37.89 km/h (23.55 mph).
